SK Trims generates highest turnover

Ten most traded companies accounted for more than 22 per cent transactions on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Thursday, with SK Trims & Industries generating the highest turnover.
Market analysts said investors showed their appetite for SK Trims throughout the session as its earnings rose 11 per cent year on year in July-September 2019 period.
The company's earnings per share (EPS) stood at Tk 0.72 for July-September 2019 as against Tk 0.65 for July-September 2018.
According to the DSE data, some 3.20 million shares of SK Trims were traded, generating a turnover of 159 million, which was 3.68 per cent of the day's total turnover of Tk 4.32 billion.
The company's share closed at Tk 49.60, advancing slightly by 0.61 per cent over the previous day.
Its share traded between Tk 38.90 and Tk 57.30 in the last one year.
SK Trims, listed on the DSE in 2018, disbursed 2.0 per cent cash and 10 per cent stock dividend for the year ended on June 30, 2018.
The board of directors of the company has recommended 10 per cent cash dividend for general shareholders only (other than sponsors & directors) and 10 per cent stock dividend for all shareholders for the year ended on June 30, 2019. The AGM will be held on December 29.
The company's paid-up capital is Tk 7,770 million and authorised capital is Tk 1.0 billion while total number of securities is 77 million.
The sponsor-directors own 30.21 per cent stake in the company, while institutional investors own 26.07 per cent and the general public 43.72 per cent as of October 31, 2019, the DSE data show.
The Saiham Cotton Mills came second on the turnover chart, with shares worth Tk 125 million changing hands. The company's share advanced 0.42 per cent to close at Tk 23.80 each.
Sonar Bangla Insurance clinched the third spot, with shares worth Tk 112 million changing hands. The company's share closed at Tk 45.70, shedding 5.58 per cent over the previous day.
Indo-Bangla Pharma emerged as the fourth, with shares worth Tk 91 million changing hands. The company's share price rose 4.10 per cent to close at Tk 20.30 each.
Paramount Insurance notched the fifth spot, with shares worth Tk 82 million changing hands. The company's share closed at Tk 36.40, advancing 3.70 per cent.
The turnover of LafargeHolcim was more than Tk 82 million. The company's share fell 3.72 per cent to close at Tk 36.20 each.
Daffodil Computers featured a turnover of nearly Tk 82 million. The company's share closed at Tk 60.50 each, advancing 1.68 per cent.
The turnover of Sinobangla Industries was more than Tk 72 million. The company's share fell 5.61 per cent to close at Tk 77 each.
Miracle Industries featured a turnover of nearly Tk 72 million. The company's share closed at Tk 22.50 each, advancing 4.65 per cent.
Beacon Pharma also made its way to the day's top ten turnover chart, with shares worth Tk 69 million changing hands. The company's share gained 7.25 per cent to close at Tk 37 each.
